Tackling food loss in the supply chain

Too much food is being lost at the primary producers. Farmers harvest vegetables that are too big or too small, are faster or more available to harvest, but that don't fit a certain packaging.

This project looks beyond individual actors in the food chain, focusing rather on the relationship between them, to have a greater impact.

Let us and Foodwin investigated the entire flow from sowing through harvesting to ordering and selling in stores. This involved zooming in on all the causes leading to food losses. Together with the producer and buyers, a new collaboration was built. With better agreements, closer communication, broader product specifications and exploration of innovative processing paths.
